Ghana playing AFCON qualifiers in Nigeria as CAF said no to their home stadium.

Ghana’s Black Stars might need to host their remaining 2025 Africa Cup of Nations home qualifiers in Nigeria due to CAF rejecting their home venue in Kumasi. The inspection team found major structural concerns at the Baba Yara Stadium. With other Ghanaian venues not meeting CAF’s standards, the country is facing challenges in securing an approved stadium for their upcoming qualifiers. CAF has instructed Ghana to find an alternative venue for the crucial Matchday three and four ties in October outside the country.

Additionally, among the potential stadiums being considered are Côte d’Ivoire’s Stade Félix Houphouët-Boigny and Stade de la Paix, Cameroon’s Japoma Stadium in Douala, and the Berkane Municipal Stadium in Morocco. The Ghana Football Association is anticipated to disclose its ultimate choice in the forthcoming days.
