Gillis-Harry: “No Petroleum Products Are Sold Below $1 Per Litre Anywhere in the World”

Billy Gillis-Harry, president of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria, has shared his perspective on the recent increase in fuel prices. In response to the hike, numerous Nigerians have taken to the streets to voice their dissatisfaction, attributing the surge in prices of commodities and petroleum products to the removal of fuel subsidies by the current administration under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The situation intensified following the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited’s announcement of a new increase in the prices of Premium Motor Spirit, commonly known as petrol, across the country.

During an interview with Arise News, Gillis-Harry asserted that there is no location in the world where petroleum products are sold for less than a dollar per litre. He stated, “I do not know anywhere in this world today that petroleum products are sold per litre for less than $1.” Dear esteemed readers, we invite you to share your thoughts and opinions on this statement.
