- Inaugural Golf Tournament: The Benin Club Golf Section (BCGS) hosted its Captain’s Inaugural Golf Tournament, attracting golfers from across the country.
- Four-Day Event: The tournament featured four days of golfing activities, starting on April 30th and concluding on May 3rd, 2025.
- Participation: Over sixty caddies participated in the caddies tournament, while professional golfers competed in various categories.
- Dignitaries: The BCGS Captain, Engr. Stephen Ebaretonbofa, alongside captains from other clubs, past captains, and dignitaries, performed the ceremonial tee-off.
The tournament featured different categories, including Veteran Men’s and Ladies, Men’s handicap 13-28, and Ladies handicap 19-36. The grand finale on May 3rd, 2025, will feature the Men’s handicap 1-12 and Ladies handicap 1-18, as well as guest Men’s and Ladies categories. This diverse range of categories allowed golfers of various skill levels to participate and showcase their talents.
The event brought together golfers from various clubs, including University of Benin Teaching Hospital Golf Club, Ibori Golf and Country Club, and Ikoyi Golf Club, among others. The tournament concluded with a dinner party, where trophies and prizes were awarded to winners and runners-up in various categories, providing a fitting end to the four-day event.
