Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to compensate the families of the 16 hunters killed by a vigilante group in Uromi, Edo State. The governor made this promise during a condolence visit to the families of the victims in Kano State, alongside his Kano State counterpart, Abba Yusuf.
Okpebholo commended the people of Kano State for remaining calm and not seeking revenge. He assured the families that the perpetrators would be brought to justice and prayed for the souls of the victims.
So far, 14 suspects have been arrested, and the governor has vowed to pursue the case to its logical conclusion. The government has also pledged to provide full compensation to the affected families .
