A devastating incident has unfolded in Zamfara State, where gunmen have abducted 50 women and children from Kakin Dawa village in the Maradun Local Government Area. The Zamfara State Police Command confirmed the incident, revealing that the victims were kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday.
According to Hassan Ya’u, a villager who escaped the attack, the gunmen arrived on motorcycles around 1:30 a.m. and kidnapped residents from different houses. Ya’u’s younger sister was among those abducted, and he appealed to the federal and Zamfara state governments to send more soldiers and security personnel to fight the bandits.
The villagers are currently in distress, waiting to hear the kidnappers’ demands for the release of the abducted individuals. This incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Zamfara State, emphasizing the need for increased security measures to protect citizens.
