Gunmen Kill 10, Attack Several Communities in Plateau State

Armed men have attacked several communities in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State, killing at least 10 people. The attacks occurred on Wednesday night, targeting Mongor, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, and Tadai communities.

According to Farmasum Fuddang, Chairman of Bokkos Cultural Development Council, security forces were able to chase the attackers out of Mongor and Daffo, but the attackers continued their assault on the other communities . This incident follows a similar attack six days prior in the Ruwi community, where 10 people were killed and three injured during a wake-keep ceremony.

The attacks have resulted in the loss of over 20 community members in just one week. Fuddang expressed gratitude to the Nigerian military and police for their swift response, which helped minimize casualties. He also extended sympathies to the victims’ families and called for emergency agencies to provide relief to the displaced and injured .
