Tragedy struck at Onipanu bus stop, inward Fadeyi, along Funsho-Williams Avenue, Lagos, on Saturday evening, as a yet-to-be-identified adult male was killed in a hit-and-run accident. The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m., and despite efforts to save his life, the victim died while receiving medical treatment at the Trauma Centre in Gbagada, Lagos.
According to Dr. Femi Oke-Osanyitolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), the driver of the vehicle, whose registration number is unknown, fled the scene immediately after the incident. The victim sustained head injuries and received urgent medical attention from LASEMA’s Paramedics before succumbing to his injuries.
