The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has launched an effort to track N10 billion worth of Federal Government-executed projects in Osun State. This initiative aims to ensure value for money, accountability, and transparency in the implementation of public projects .
The ICPC has commenced the phase 7 of its project tracking exercise, focusing on projects such as eight solar-powered boreholes, 120 solar streetlights, and drainage systems in communities like Boripe and Temidire Estate .
According to Mary Oke, the ICPC tracking team leader, the commission will assess the status of various constituency and executive projects to ensure that public resources are utilized efficiently to deliver quality infrastructure and services .
The ICPC’s efforts have already received positive feedback from community members, who acknowledge the impact of the federal government projects on their lives and economy. For instance, the treasurer of Boripe community, Mr. Olorunsola, praised the solar streetlights installed in the community, which have improved safety and security .
