The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered a special investigation into the death of Priscilla Ocheme, whose lifeless body was discovered after she went missing following a visit to her boyfriend, Ekhousuehi Elvis, in Abuja. The case was initially reported to the office of the Assistant Inspector-General, Zone 7, Abuja, and Elvis was invited for questioning. However, instead of responding, Elvis filed a counter-petition at a police formation in Lagos.

To ensure clarity and avoid conflicting investigations, the IGP has instructed the Special Investigation Unit to take full control of the case and guarantee a thorough and impartial investigation. According to the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Muyiwa Adejobi, Elvis and other suspects connected to the case are in police custody and are being interrogated. The police have dismissed circulating rumors of mistreatment, emphasizing that all suspects are being treated in accordance with the law.

It’s worth noting that preliminary investigations suggest that Priscilla’s death may not have been a murder, but rather an accident ¹. The FCT Police Command has stated that Priscilla was involved in a fatal motorcycle accident while on her way home from Elvis’ residence. However, the case is still under investigation, and the police are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
