The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Association of Licensed Telecommunications Operators of Nigeria (ALTON), and MainOne have expressed support for Dayo Oketola’s book, “The Catalyst: Nigerian Tech Evolution Through a Journalist’s Lens.” The book launch and exaugural lecture will take place on September 17, 2024, marking the end of Oketola’s tenure as Editor of The PUNCH and celebrating his nearly 20 years in journalism.
The book explores the evolution of Nigeria’s telecommunications sector, from the introduction of GSM in 2001 to the present day, highlighting bold initiatives and charting a path for Nigeria to maximize its digital economic potential.
Industry leaders, including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, will attend the event, which will feature a keynote address by Obasanjo, a book review by Dr. Akin Olaniyan, and a chairing by former MTN Nigeria CEO Michael Ikpoki.
