JAMB Assures Candidates: No Out-of-State Exams for 2025 UTME

  • No Out-of-State Exams: Candidates will sit for the 2025 UTME in their registered state.
  • Mock Exam Exception: Some candidates were sent to neighboring states during the mock exam due to center unavailability, but this won’t happen in the main exam.
  • Early Registration Benefits: Increases chances of getting a closer exam center.
  • 2025 UTME Date: Scheduled to begin on April 25.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that candidates for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be allowed to sit for the examination outside their state of registration. According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Public Communication Advisor to JAMB, this decision aims to uphold the integrity of the examination and improve logistical efficiency.

During the mock examination, some candidates were sent to centers in neighboring states due to unavailability of centers in their registered state. However, JAMB assures that this won’t happen in the main examination as more centers will be available. The board urges candidates to make necessary sacrifices to ensure a better examination experience.

Early registration increases chances of getting a center close to the candidate’s location. If a closer center is filled up, candidates may be assigned another center within their registered state. The 2025 UTME is scheduled to begin on April 25. JAMB encourages candidates to follow guidelines and updates to ensure a smooth examination experience.
