Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has refuted claims that it sacked 900 workers, stating that the actual number of affected employees is significantly lower. According to a statement issued by the company’s Corporate Affairs Head, Abdullahi Abdulazeez, the company initiated a comprehensive transformation exercise to ensure its long-term sustainability.

The statement clarified that “services no longer required” letters were issued only to Independent System Operator (ISO) employees, an arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN). The decision was made due to significant operational and financial challenges affecting the company’s ability to meet market and operational obligations.
