Kano State Hisbah Board’s Director General, Dr. Abba Sufi, confirmed the arrest of Auwal Danladi Sankara on Friday evening ¹. The commissioner was caught with Tasleem Baba Nabegu, a married woman and mother of two, in an uncompleted building owned by him.
The arrest was made possible through intelligent tracking after receiving complaints from the woman’s husband, Nasiru Bulama, and her younger brother ¹. Bulama had filed complaints with the Kano State Police Command, Department of State Services, and Hisbah Board, alleging Sankara’s involvement in illicit sexual activities with his wife.
Dr. Sufi stated that Sankara will face prosecution on multiple charges, including operating illicit drug centers under the guise of hotels, promoting prostitution and drug addiction ¹. The prosecution is set to begin on Monday at a competent court of law.
