The Katsina State Police Command has announced the arrest of 22 suspects and the recovery of stolen items worth over ₦10 million. According to a statement by ASP Abubakar Sadiq, Public Relations Officer, the Command has been successful in several operations targeting theft and vandalism.
On August 24, three suspects – Hamza Lawal, Safiyanu Usman, and Mariya Adamu – were arrested for criminal house trespass and theft in GRA Katsina. Stolen items recovered included a freezer, plasma TVs, a computer, furniture, and electrical appliances.
In a separate operation on September 4, a 12-man gang was arrested for vandalizing armored electric cables in Katsina metropolis. The suspects confessed to the crime and implicated additional accomplices.
On September 5, six individuals were arrested for vandalizing the Kofar Marusa drainage, with 51 iron rods recovered. All suspects have confessed to their crimes.
The Command has pledged to continue its efforts to apprehend all suspects involved and bring them to justice.
