Kidnapping: I’m Ready to Surrender All My Property — Evans Pleads for Mercy

  • Convicted kidnap kingpin Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, has applied for a plea bargain agreement, offering to surrender all his property, including 14 brand-new trucks, and has claimed to have undergone a transformation while in prison, obtaining a teaching diploma and becoming a teacher.

Evans made this plea to the Lagos State High Court, expressing remorse for his actions and pleading for mercy. He claimed that he had undergone a transformation during his time in Kirikiri Maximum Prison and is no longer a criminal. Evans also stated that he had obtained a teaching diploma in economics from Yewa College of Education and is now a teacher at the correctional centre in Kirikiri.

As part of his plea bargain application, Evans offered to forfeit his 14 brand-new trucks to the Lagos State Government for sale, with the proceeds to be transferred to the victims of his criminal activities. He also presented documents showing that he had been granted a scholarship by the Federal Government while in prison and had earned a National Certificate in Education in Economics. Additionally, Evans is currently studying Political Science at the National Open University of Nigeria under the Federal Government’s scholarship scheme.
