The Department of State Services (DSS) has invited Ladi Adebutu, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, to discuss the violence that occurred during the recent local government election. Meanwhile, Governor Dapo Abiodun has sworn in the newly elected chairmen of the state’s local governments, urging them to focus on delivering development to every corner of the state.

During the swearing-in ceremony, Abiodun emphasized the importance of formulating policies and implementing programs that positively impact the lives of the people in their respective local government areas. He also advised the chairmen to key into the state government’s development agenda and embrace innovation to generate revenue for their councils.

However, Adebutu has accused Governor Abiodun of using the military and police, as well as armed hoodlums, to intimidate opposition members during the election. The state government has denied these allegations, describing them as “a tissue of lies”.
