- The situation has escalated after CAF decided to penalize the Libyan Football Federation (LFF) for their role in the incident, leading to heightened tensions between the two nations.
- Adenaike Emmanuel, a Nigerian resident in Tripoli, confirmed reports of arrests, stating that they began shortly after the CAF ruling was announced.
