Maja misses out on Championship Player of the Month to Oxford striker

Josh Maja missed out on the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for August, won by Oxford United striker Mark Harris. Despite Maja’s strong start with West Bromwich Albion, scoring four goals and an assist in four matches, he was a top contender. His notable performance included a hat-trick in Albion’s 3-1 victory over Queens Park Rangers on the opening day of the season. Additionally, he scored in the 2-1 win against Stoke City and assisted Jayson Molumby in the 1-0 triumph over Swansea City just before the international break.

Mark Harris clinched the award with his impressive performances for Oxford United, scoring in all four August fixtures, including a remarkable 30-yard lob against Blackburn. His hard work and leadership from the front stood out to the judging panel. Despite this, Maja’s contributions have been vital to West Bromwich Albion’s strong start this season, helping the team secure ten points and sit second in the league. With Maja’s form, fans will be eager to see him continue scoring as the team aims for promotion to the Premier League.
