A 31-year-old man was arrested on Sunday after attempting to divert a Mexico-bound flight to the United States. The Airbus A320 plane, which took off from Leon, Guanajuato, was headed to Tijuana when the man assaulted a flight attendant and tried to enter the cockpit.

The suspect, who was traveling with his family, claimed that a close relative had been kidnapped and he was threatened to be killed if he went to Tijuana ¹. Despite his claims, the crew members were able to subdue him, and the plane made an emergency landing at Guadalajara International Airport.

After the arrest, the flight resumed its journey to Tijuana. The incident highlights the growing concerns about aviation security and the need for increased vigilance to prevent such incidents.
