Minimum Wage: Organised Labour, Cross River Reach Agreement on 70,000 Naira

Cross River State Government and Organised Labour have reached a landmark agreement on the 70,000 national minimum wage. This development comes after a series of meetings involving key stakeholders, including the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), and Joint Negotiating Council (JNC).

According to Com. Monday Ogbodum, Chairman of the Trade Union Congress, the agreement was reached late Sunday. Ogbodum confirmed that a congress would be held to determine further action regarding the planned industrial strike scheduled to commence on Monday, December 2nd.

This agreement marks a significant milestone in the ongoing negotiations between the Cross River State Government and Organised Labour. The new minimum wage is expected to improve the living standards of workers in the state.
