Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has emerged as the president of the NURTW

Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has been elected as the National President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for the Southwest Zone. This development took place during the union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference held at its Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State. Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti participated in the election, which was monitored by the acting National President, Aliyu Issa-Ore [no source cited, user-provided information].

MC Oluomo’s election aligns with the union’s constitution, which requires the zone to produce the president and present them to the National Secretariat. According to Mrs. Adedamola Salam, representing the Head of Finance, National Headquarters, Abuja, the Southwest zone has fully complied with the constitution in electing Oluomo as President.

In addition to Oluomo’s election, Tajudeen Agbede was chosen as Vice President, Southwest, and Akeem Adeosun was selected as trustee from the zone. Following his oath of office, Oluomo emphasized the importance of peace and unity within the union, extending an olive branch to those he may have offended and seeking forgiveness from others.

Oluomo’s commitment to unity is crucial, especially considering the significant role NURTW plays in the transportation sector. His leadership will likely impact the livelihoods of many union members and the broader community.
