The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Ebonyi State Command has made significant strides in combating illicit drug trafficking in the third quarter of 2024. Between July and September, the agency seized 115.226 kilograms of various illicit substances and arrested 149 suspects across different locations in the state .
According to the State Commander, Mr. Peter Ogar, the arrested suspects comprise 112 males and 37 females, aged between 26 and 72 years. These individuals are suspected to be involved in drug dealing, usage, and trafficking .

- Codeine Syrup: 0.393 kg
- Tramadol Tablets: 0.004 kg
- Tramadol Capsule: 0.437 kg
- Diazepam Tablets: 917 tablets, 0.964 and 47 amps, 0.226 kg
- Methamphetamine: 0.0054 kg
- Bromazepam: 75 tablets, 0.034 kg
- Lorazepam Tablets: 476 tablets, 0.100 kg
- Monkey Tail: 56 liters, 42.2 kg
- Raphynol Tablets: 24 tablets, 0.009 kg
- Other Psychotropic Substances: 115.226 kg
The agency also counseled 82 suspects, including 64 males and 18 females, and secured one conviction during the same period. NDLEA’s efforts extend beyond enforcement, with sensitization campaigns targeting youth groups, community heads, and primary and secondary schools .
