The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has recovered illicit substances valued at ₦1.042 billion after raiding an 80-room hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos. The agency seized 589 bags of “Canadian Loud” cannabis, weighing 417.3 kilograms, and arrested three suspects. Additional items suspected to be proceeds from illicit drug activities were also recovered, including vehicles and electronics.
In other operations, the NDLEA intercepted a Saudi-bound shipment of cocaine, seized opioid consignments in Jigawa State, and arrested suspects attempting to smuggle cannabis into Nigeria at the Seme Border. The agency also destroyed 3,814.9kg of skunk cultivated on two farms in Edo State.
The NDLEA chairman commended the efforts of the officers involved in the operations, praising their balanced approach to reducing both the supply and demand of illicit drugs .
