Nigeria’s Technical Aid Corps (NTAC) is deploying 35 medical professionals, including nurses and doctors, to Zanzibar, Tanzania, to bridge educational and professional gaps. The deployment is part of NTAC’s mandate to send volunteers to African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) countries in need of professionals.

NTAC Director-General Dr. Yusuf Yakub said the deployment is a historic moment for the corps and honors President Bola Tinubu’s directive to use soft power diplomacy. The agency has deployed over 10,000 experts to ACP countries since its establishment in 1987.

The volunteers, led by Dr. Paul Cornelius, expressed gratitude and pledged to make the country proud while promoting Nigeria’s image in the host community. The deployment aims to enhance diplomatic relations and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Zanzibar.
