Nigerian Police Arrest Two Political Thugs, Recover Firearms Ahead of Edo Election

In a significant breakthrough, the Nigerian Police Force has arrested two political thugs, Edwin Obanor and Audu Tajudeen, in Edo State, recovering three cut-to-size locally fabricated pistols and one locally made gun. The arrests were made during an overnight raid at various locations across the state, following a tip-off that the individuals were armed to cause mayhem and instability during the election.

According to Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Obanor, a 43-year-old leader of an armed group, was apprehended at Oredo Ward 4, while Tajudeen, a 41-year-old Peoples Democratic Party member, was arrested at Igara Akoko, Edo [1).

The police have reassured the public of their commitment to maintaining law and order and ensuring a peaceful electoral process. The suspects are currently in custody and will face the full weight of the law.

Recovered Firearms:

  • Three cut-to-size locally fabricated pistols from Edwin Obanor
  • One locally made gun from Audu Tajudeen
