The Supreme Court has dismissed a suit seeking to remove President Bola Tinubu from office. The plaintiff, Chief Ambrose Owuru, had alleged that Tinubu is an active agent of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and had forfeited $460,000 in a drug-related case, making him unfit for the presidency .
However, the court didn’t find these allegations convincing and instead imposed a fine of N5 million on Owuru for filing a “frivolous” suit. The court also warned Owuru against filing such suits in the future .
Owuru had previously attempted to stop ex-President Muhammadu Buhari’s swearing-in and had also approached the appellate court to stop Tinubu’s inauguration, but his efforts were unsuccessful .
