The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released its weather outlook for Wednesday to Friday. According to the forecast, the northern region is expected to experience sunny skies on Wednesday, with a few patches of clouds and prospects of afternoon or evening thunderstorms over Kaduna, Adamawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Taraba states.

In the North Central region, sunny skies with increased cloudiness are anticipated, with chances of thunderstorms over the Federal Capital Territory, Benue, Plateau, Niger, Kwara, and Kogi states during the afternoon or evening periods. The southern region is expected to experience a cloudy morning with spells of sunshine and chances of morning localized thunderstorms over Delta, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states.

For Thursday, NiMet predicts morning thunderstorms over parts of Kebbi, Taraba, Borno, and Adamawa states, with thunderstorms expected over most parts of the northern and North Central regions. The southern region is expected to experience thunderstorms over Ogun, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Rivers, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, and Lagos states.

On Friday, cloudy skies with sunshine intervals are anticipated over the northern region, with prospects of morning thunderstorms over Taraba and Adamawa states. The North Central region is expected to experience sunny skies with increased cloudiness and chances of morning thunderstorms over Benue state, while the southern region is expected to experience cloudy skies with prospects of thunderstorms over Enugu, Imo, Awka, Cross River, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, and Bayelsa states.

NiMet has urged the public to take necessary precautions, especially in areas where thunderstorms are likely to occur, and recommends that airline operators obtain airport-specific weather reports for effective planning.
