Ogun Commercial Drivers Protest High Levies by Transport Union Workers

Minibus drivers in Ogun State protested at the Ministry of Transportation complex in Abeokuta on Tuesday, seeking government intervention over alleged extortion and multiple levies by transport union executives. The drivers claimed the levies, previously N4,000-N6,000 daily, had increased to N6,000-N10,000.

They demanded reversal of the increased levies, eradication of multiple tickets, removal of union officers from the expressway, and an end to arbitrary fees. The drivers stated that the new levies would worsen their hardship, with daily union fees totaling around N11,000
