- Okpebholo’s Response: Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, says PDP’s statement exposes Obaseki’s failures and that the current administration will not be distracted.
The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has cautioned Governor Monday Okpebholo against taking credit for the construction of Temboga Road and other projects initiated and completed during the tenure of former Governor Godwin Obaseki. According to Chris Nehikhare, the state Publicity Secretary of the PDP Caretaker Committee, Okpebholo’s claims are disingenuous and misleading. Nehikhare emphasized that the 7.5km Temboga Road was initiated and constructed by the Obaseki-led government.
In response, Okpebholo’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua, stated that Nehikhare’s statement exposed Obaseki’s failures, citing the PDP-led administration’s inability to complete the Temboga Road project within a year. Itua added that Governor Okpebholo will not be distracted by retired politicians chasing clout and suffering from post-election trauma.
This development highlights the ongoing tensions between the PDP and the current administration in Edo State, with each side accusing the other of deceit and incompetence.
