Governor Alex Otti has given the green light for Abia State workers to receive a minimum wage of N70,000 starting from the end of October. This exciting development was shared by Prince Okey Kanu, the Commissioner for Information, during a press briefing in Umuahia, where he highlighted the Governor’s commitment to workers’ welfare .

According to Kanu, the payment of this new minimum wage will cut across all categories of workers, demonstrating the Governor’s empathy for those who serve the state . The Commissioner also mentioned that the state government plans to strengthen the administration of justice by constructing 17 court halls across the 17 local government areas of Abia State .
