Oyo State has confirmed 23 cholera cases and one death out of 245 suspected cases reported between January 1 and October 7, 2024. The state health commissioner, Oluwasherimi Ajetumobi, disclosed that nine patients are currently receiving treatment at the Infectious Disease Center in Ibadan.
Additionally, the state government is preparing for a malaria prevention campaign with USAID, which has procured 5.6 million nets. The state will contribute N210 million as a counterpart fund.
The state also announced several upcoming cultural events, including the World Twin Festival, Yemoja Festival, Omituntun Cultural Carnival, and Ogbomoso Global Cultural Carnival.
