The Oyo State government has prohibited teachers’ meetings during school hours, effective immediately. Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman of the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, made the announcement while monitoring school resumptions in Ibadan.
Adeniran emphasized that the move aims to enforce the unified school timetable in all public schools. He warned head teachers and teachers to refrain from holding meetings during school hours, threatening severe consequences for non-compliance.
The policy applies to all public schools, and Adeniran urged unions and associations within the basic education sub-sector to cooperate.
Separately, Adeniran reiterated SUBEB’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance Oyo State’s education system. He encouraged participants in a capacity-building session on the BESDA Attendance Monitoring Information System to develop their skills.
