  • Apugo alleges that Wabara’s decision to invite Hon. Sunday Udo-Okoye, the second claimant for the National Secretary position, to the meeting caused the confusion.
  • Wabara’s action is considered contempt of court, as the Court of Appeal has granted a stay of execution in favor of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s National Secretary.

Chief Chukwudi Apugo, a South East Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has pointed fingers at Senator Adolphus Wabara, the Party’s Board of Trustees (BoT) Chairman, for the fracas that marred the 78th BoT meeting in Abuja. According to Apugo, Wabara’s decision to invite Hon. Sunday Udo-Okoye, the second claimant for the National Secretary position, to the meeting was the spark that ignited the confusion.

Apugo questioned Wabara’s motives, wondering why he invited Ude-Okoye to the meeting when Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the party’s National Secretary, was already seated and discharging his duties. Apugo noted that the BoT secretariat’s original list of attendees did not include Ude-Okoye’s name, but Wabara later forwarded an amended list with Ude-Okoye’s name, causing confusion.

Furthermore, Apugo argued that Wabara’s action amounts to contempt of court, as the Court of Appeal has granted a stay of execution in favor of Senator Samuel Anyanwu, allowing him to continue serving as National Secretary while pursuing his appeal.
