Dr. Tanko Yunusa, National Coordinator of Obidient Movement, believes Peter Obi has what it takes to become Nigeria’s president in 2027. Yunusa’s optimism stems from Obi’s impressive track record and the movement’s determination to prevent electoral fraud. The Obidient Movement plans to advocate for electoral reform, ensuring the INEC chairman’s independence and sufficient polling unit agents.
According to Prof. Pat Utomi, the movement’s objective is to create a better Nigeria through collective sacrifice. Utomi notes that traditional avenues have failed to produce effective leadership, making the Obidient Movement a viable alternative.
During a recent Good Governance Symposium in Onitsha, Anambra state, Yunusa emphasized the need for change, citing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s failures across different regions. Labour Party gubernatorial aspirants, including Chief Valentine Ozigbo and Chief John Nwosu, also echoed the need for transformation in Anambra state.
It’s worth noting that Peter Obi himself has stated he’s more desperate to see Nigeria work than to become president, expressing openness to collaborating with others to achieve this goal.
