DA Gains New Members in Verulam, Blames ANC-Run Municipality for Failed Projects
The Democratic Alliance in eThekwini welcomed new members in Verulam as it intensifies its campaign ahead of local government elections, criticizing the ANC-run municipality for uncompleted and mismanaged projects.
The Democratic Alliance (DA) in eThekwini has welcomed new members in Verulam north of Durban, as it intensifies its mobilisation campaign ahead of the upcoming local government elections. The event was led by eThekwini mayoral candidate Haniff Hoosen and Provincial chairperson Dean Macpherson.
The DA says it has ramped up its campaign trail through public engagements across the municipality. Hoosen told supporters that the African National Congress (ANC)-run municipality has failed the residents of the Metro. Hoosen cited several uncompleted and mismanaged projects as evidence of failure within the eThekwini Municipality.
“We were hopeful that this new government would have built facilities for our children, football fields, swimming pools, netball. I came from another event and at least there was some facility there. So we are never going to change our country to make our children compete on the same level as all other,” Hoosen said.
