President Bola Tinubu is currently chairing the 18th Federal Executive Council meeting at the Aso Chambers in Abuja. This meeting marks his return from recent foreign engagements in Equatorial Guinea, China, and the UK.
Twenty-one ministers are in attendance, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Notably, Vice President Kashim Shettima is absent, leading Nigeria’s delegation to the UN General Assembly in New York.
Before proceedings began, the council observed a minute of silence to honor former Minister Salome Jankada, who passed away on August 27.
The meeting’s agenda remains undisclosed, but it’s expected to cover various project approvals from multiple ministries.
