President Bola Tinubu has made a firm commitment to complete the Eastern Rail line connecting Port Harcourt to Maiduguri. He made this promise during an interactive session with South East leaders in Enugu. Tinubu also pledged to support the development of the Anambra Basin, which is estimated to hold up to 1 billion barrels of oil and 30 billion cubic feet of gas.

The President’s commitment to completing the Eastern Rail line is expected to boost Nigeria’s non-oil exports and economic growth. Former Minister of Power Professor Chinedu Nebo and Enugu State indigene Chris Ugoh appealed to the President to prioritize the completion of the rail link and develop the Anambra Basin.

Tinubu also inaugurated several projects in Enugu, including the GTC Smart Green School, New Haven/Bisalla Road, the International Conference Center, the Command-and-Control Center, and 150 patrol vehicles equipped with surveillance cameras. He praised Governor Peter Mbah for his development model and philosophy, saying that the federal government would continue to support Enugu and other states in their development efforts.

The President emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation, saying that “we are all members of one huge family called Nigeria, but we live in different rooms in the same house.” He encouraged leaders to work together to build a better future for the country.
