President Tinubu Vows to End Hunger Crisis
President Bola Tinubu is committed to ending Nigeria’s hunger crisis, according to Engr. Adedeji Ashiru, Managing Director and CEO of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority. Ashiru stated that Tinubu’s efforts to tackle food insecurity are already yielding results.
Initiatives and Partnerships
The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority (O-ORBDA) has trained 200 Southwest farmers in irrigation farming to enhance agricultural productivity. This program is part of President Tinubu’s efforts in job creation and food production in the agricultural sector. O-ORBDA has partnered with the Ogun State government to support farmers.
Food Security a Top Priority
Ashiru emphasized that food security is a major agenda for President Tinubu, ensuring food availability nationwide. The O-ORBDA initiative aligns with the state government’s vision for food security and aims to mitigate hunger in Nigeria.

Ogun Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr. Bolu Owotomo, represented by Director of Agriculture, Sodiya Soetan, noted that irrigation farming will enable year-round farming, leading to an abundance of food for the state and nation.
