Media practitioners, be transparent and hold politicians accountable,” Governor Seyi Makinde urged at the PDP Press Corps retreat. He emphasized the media’s crucial role in fostering development in a multi-party democracy.

Makinde stated, “Transparency and accountability from public officeholders lead to development, the ultimate goal of the media and society.” He stressed the media must ensure its platforms aren’t controlled by those in power or abused by practitioners.

“The media holds public offices accountable, serving as society’s watchdog. If unchecked, officials may prioritize personal interests over public good,” Makinde warned.
