The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors Forum has urged the Federal Government to rethink its macro-economic policies, citing the hardship they’ve inflicted on Nigerians. The forum emphasized that until these harsh policies are addressed, meaningful achievements in the states won’t be possible.

At its first 2025 meeting held at Government House Asaba, the forum commended its member governors for implementing policies that alleviate the plight of their citizens and promote sustainable development. However, it expressed concern about the Federal Government’s macro-economic policies, which have caused widespread hardship.

The PDP governors reaffirmed their support for the Court of Appeal judgment on the National Secretary position and advised the National Working Committee (NWC) to set up a machinery for effective implementation of the court’s decision.

Additionally, the forum advised the NWC to reschedule the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to March 13, 2025. It also commended the country’s Armed Forces and Security Agencies for their efforts in securing the nation, while calling for the strengthening of the nation’s security architecture.

The meeting was attended by several PDP governors, including Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, and Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.
