The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has urged Igbos living in the diaspora to return home for Christmas, assuring them of security and protection by its Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives. This call was made through IPOB’s Media and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Emma Powerful, who emphasized the group’s commitment to tackling insecurity in the South East region and promoting peace and development .

IPOB described the South East as a historically peaceful region and encouraged all Igbos to contribute to maintaining harmony, which is critical for the region’s economic growth. The group also warned criminals to steer clear of the South East, especially during the Christmas season, as ESN operatives and IPOB volunteers are working to make the region inhospitable to criminal activities.

However, it’s worth noting that some people have expressed skepticism and concerns about IPOB’s intentions and the security situation in the South East.
