• The Nigerian Senate commences screening of President Bola Tinubu’s ministerial nominees today.
• Seven nominees will undergo confirmation in compliance with Section 147 of the Constitution.
• Nominees have submitted their curriculum vitae to the office of Senator Basheer Lado.
• Screening follows President Tinubu’s request to Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Ministerial nominees include:
Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction,
Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, Minister of Labour and Employment,
Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, Minister of State, Foreign Affairs,
Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, Minister of Industry, Trade and Development,
Idi Maiha, Minister of Livestock Development,
Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, Minister of State, Housing,
and Dr. Suwaiba Ahmad, Minister of State, Education.
The nominees have submitted their curriculum vitae to the office of Senator Basheer Lado, Special Adviser to the President on Senate Matters. The screening and confirmation process is in line with Section 147 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (As Amended).
President Tinubu’s request for screening and confirmation was contained in a letter to Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, read during last Thursday’s plenary.
