Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke Fayoade, has charged newly promoted police officers to shun disgraceful acts and extortion. The warning was given during the decoration of 33 newly promoted officers drawn from the Lagos and Ogun Police Commands.

AIG Fayoade reminded the officers that their promotion is a call to duty, urging them to work harder to secure the country. He emphasized the importance of eschewing corruption and treating members of the public with kindness and respect.

The promotion ceremony was significant, as it marked a record-breaking promotion of over 2,000 policemen from the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). AIG Fayoade appreciated the Inspector General of Police and the Police Service Commission for their consideration.
