President Bola Tinubu has called on Nigerian university graduates to resist the temptation of seeking better opportunities abroad, urging them to stay and work towards building a brighter future for the country ¹. Speaking at the 29th and 30th combined convocation ceremony of the University of Uyo, Tinubu emphasized the need for graduates to utilize their knowledge and skills to uplift society and contribute to Nigeria’s growth and global development.

Tinubu noted that education is the cornerstone of national development and must be both responsive and transformative for progress to occur. He encouraged graduates to be agents of positive change, using their skills to uplift society. The government has invested significantly in their education, equipping them to make meaningful contributions.

In addition, Tinubu has shown commitment to education development, previously directing the Federal Ministry of Education to include National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) graduates in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) framework.
