    Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has strongly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s tax reform policies, stating that they’re unfair to northern Nigeria and threaten national unity. Mohammed argued that the reforms seem designed to benefit specific regions while leaving the North at a disadvantage .

    The governor emphasized that the government must listen to the people, as this is a democracy, not a dictatorship or oligarchy. He warned that ignoring the cries of the people could lead to unrest and anarchy. Mohammed also stressed that leadership requires listening and sensitivity to the needs of the masses, and that no leader should feel too proud or arrogant to admit when a policy is not working .

    Mohammed’s comments were made during a courtesy visit by the Christian community in Bauchi State, where he also expressed gratitude for their support over the years. He reiterated the importance of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence, saying that everyone is free to practice their faith without fear or discrimination .
