- The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), and others reject the 50% tariff hike approved by the Federal Government.
The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the Federal Government’s approval of a 50% increase in telecommunication tariffs, describing it as an assault on Nigerians’ welfare. The NLC argued that the hike would worsen the economic hardship faced by Nigerian workers and the masses.
Other groups, including the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG), and Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA), have also rejected the tariff hike.
The groups have called on the government to reconsider the hike and prioritize the interests of citizens over corporate profits.
