The Director General of NYSC says members will soon start receiving N77,000 monthly

    Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that they’ll soon start receiving an increased monthly allowance of N77,000. This announcement was made during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company in Abuja .

    According to Ahmed, arrangements for the increased allowance have been finalized, and he emphasized his commitment to the welfare and security of corps members. By 2025, corps members can expect to receive all the benefits they deserve .

    Currently, NYSC members receive N33,000 monthly, despite President Bola Tinubu signing the new national minimum wage bill into law in July 2024. The increased allowance is a significant improvement, representing a 133% increase from the current amount .

    The donation of the staff bus aims to address transportation challenges faced by NYSC staff, and Capital Express Insurance CEO, Matthew Ogwezhi, highlighted the company’s long-standing partnership with the NYSC .
