The FCT Police Command has launched an investigation and manhunt after a family of four, including a visitor, was kidnapped in the Kubwa area of Abuja. The incident occurred on January 27, 2025, around 1 p.m. when seven unknown men, disguised as vigilante members and armed with machetes and sticks, attacked the victim’s residence.
According to preliminary investigations, the suspects tricked the victim into opening his gate, after which they abducted him, his wife, their elder son, and a visitor. A neighbor who attempted to intervene sustained injuries and was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital for treatment.
The Police Command has activated search and rescue operations to apprehend the suspects and secure the safe return of the victims. Residents of Chikakore and the general public are urged to remain vigilant and report any useful information to assist in the investigation and rescue efforts.
