The Federal Government, through FERMA, has launched “Operation Connect to Your Destination” Phase 2, a major road repair initiative aimed at improving traffic flow across federal highways nationwide ahead of the festive season. This project targets to patch 18,850 square meters of road surface, rehabilitate over 12,000 failed sections, complete 2,700 square meters of road overlay, and make 653 kilometers of road motorable .
According to FERMA Managing Director, Engr. Chukwuemeka Agbasi, the project aims to enhance journey times and alleviate traffic congestion during the festive period, recognizing that traffic flows increase significantly between the north and south during this time.
