The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has kicked off its recruitment exercise, and it’s open to all eligible Nigerians. The agency wants to assure everyone that the process is completely free and fair, and they’re warning people to be cautious of scammers who might try to take advantage of applicants.
The NCS is looking to fill positions in three cadres: Superintendent, Inspector, and Customs Assistant. They’re planning to recruit 3,927 officers in 2025, and this initiative is aimed at enhancing trade facilitation and supporting Nigeria’s economic recovery efforts.
To be eligible, applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, have a valid National Identification Number (NIN), and no criminal record or ongoing investigations. Here are the academic qualifications required for each cadre:
- Superintendent Cadre: University degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with an NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Inspectorate Cadre: National Diploma (ND) or Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from an accredited institution.
- Customs Assistant Cadre: At least an O’Level certificate (WAEC or NECO).
